GMAT 2021-22 Eligibility Criteria

GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is the preferred test of candidates who want to pursue a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or Masters in Management (MiM) Degree. The GMAT has a wide acceptance across the world’s best B-Schools in most countries such as the USA, India, Europe, Asia & Africa.

Eligibility for GMAT 2021-22

Age Limit

As per GMAC guidelines, candidates must be at least 18-year-old to be eligible for the exam. However, those who fall in the age group 13 to 17 are also permitted to take the test as long as they have written consent from their parents. 

Language Requirements

Excellent command over English is a must not because the Verbal section is tough, but because it is designed to be attempted in English. The candidate should be able to understand the twisted questions asked in the exam across all sections.

Nationality

Every individual irrespective of their gender, age nationality, region, etc. can appear for the exam. Specially abled candidates are given special accommodations and their medical documents are kept confidential.

While you may be eligible for GMAT, there are many management colleges worldwide that do not require a GMAT score to evaluate your profile – so you may choose to not appear for the exam. B-Schools that don’t require the GMAT test your abilities through their own internal tests and go through your previous academic records to judge your suitability for the course.

GRE is another growing option. Confusion often arises in mind students whether to go for GMAT or GRE – while GMAT is the de-facto exam for an MBA, the GRE is fast gaining acceptance with more B-Schools accepting the exam with each day. Check the full list of B-Schools accepting GRE here.
