IIM Udaipur offers a stellar two-year MBA program that is one of the hallmarks of the institute. The PGP program has been designed to give the students a transformative experience that enables them to develop into highly skilled managers with problem-solving and analysis skills while also developing them into a socially responsible individual that is ready to lead their organization on the path of excellence. The two-year program comprises six terms with a compulsory internship at the end of 1st year.
IIMU says its program is driven by five essential elements:
Global Best Practices
At its heart, the MBA degree is about learning and knowing how to create a balance between management theory and practice. IIM U doesn’t stop there and ensures its students are ethical and responsible decision-makers.
Multi-dimensional Immersion Experience
The premise of an immersive experience is to provide students real-life environments so that they can explore what suits them and what they are truly passionate about.
The institute has made Rural Immersion mandatory, which starts with a course on Indian Social and Political Environment and ends with the students spending a week in a village working closely with NGOs to understand and assimilate the ground realities of rural India.
After the students complete the first year at IIMU, they also have to undertake a mandatory internship, which can either be at a company, to gain experiential learning or by building their entrepreneurial project, to learn hands-on application. Students can also opt for corporate internships globally, some of which have been in Dubai, Qatar, London, and Malaysia, where the students apply their theoretical knowledge and understand closely what it means to work in an organization.
During the second year, the institute provides the students with International Business in Practice as an elective, which gives more than one-third of the institute’s students the chance to work on a live business problem for a period of two weeks in a company based in South Asia or the Middle East.
Analytics
The institute has made significant investments over the years to ensure that this crucial part of management does not get ignored. IIM Udaipur has helped build the analytical capabilities of students by developing infrastructure with state-of-the-art Bloomberg terminals and an Analytics Lab, along with all-new courses in analytics.
Entrepreneurship
The fourth pillar of learning at IIMU is the focus of the institute on Entrepreneurship. IIMU encourages this in several ways, such as intensive mentoring and support, theoretical and practical coursework, and flexible career options to ensure that students have the freedom to explore where their entrepreneurial interests lie.
A Global Perspective
IIMU also understands the importance of a multicultural environment to build good and effective leaders. Almost 60% of the institute’s students choose from one of the numerous options to study or work abroad that range from two weeks to three months during the two-year program. This international exposure helps the students understand the impact and value of cultural values and laws and widens their perspective to be more open and welcoming to different people and their ideas.
