IIM Ranchi MBA / PGP: Overview

Course Highlights:

Introduction

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi offers a two-year full-time residential Post Graduate Programme (PGP) – the flagship program at the institute. This programme at IIM, Ranchi, is equivalent to an MBA degree. It’s a well-recognized and prestigious degree.

In order to get selected for this programme, students must go through a proper selection process, which includes a Common Admission Test (CAT), a competitive entrance examination, followed by a Written Ability Test (WAT), and Personal Interviews.

As of now, the in-take capacity of this programme is around 185.

The programme is designed to achieve the following objectives:

• It provides exposure to actual working conditions or industrial environment to students in order to help them understand industrial needs better.
• This PGP programme walks students through practical knowledge of various areas such as growth, creation, and management to fulfill an organization’s needs better.
• It equips students to come up with new strategies as per external and internal environment within a company.
• It teaches students how to use different techniques to approach a problem, within the processes, modules, and practices of an organisation.
• It helps students strengthen their cultural sensitivity to understand and appreciate diverse perspectives in a global environment.
• Behavioral ethics and integrity are the main emphasis points of this programme.

IIM, Ranchi has a record of 100% placement in every placement process of programmes such as PGP and PGP-HRM.

Eligibility Criteria And Admission

Eligibility For PGDM 

• Only those candidates will be able to apply who have a Bachelor’s degree or any other equivalent degree. 50% marks are the minimum that a candidate needs to apply, but SC, ST, and Differently Abled candidates must have at least 45% marks. This degree must be issued by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India. Or else, it should be issued by other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. Or the applicant must have an equivalent degree which is issued by a recognised institution by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
• Students such as those who are appearing in the final year of examination can apply based on their latest examinations, but the terms are the same – they need at least 50% marks.

Admissions

ADMISSION CRITERIA FOR TWO-YEAR POST-GRADUATE PROGRAMME IN MANAGEMENT (PGP) BATCH OF 2020-22

The admission process depends upon multiple factors such as candidates’ performance in the CAT 2019, Personal Interview (PI), Written Ability Test (WAT), and their profiles followed by the WAT and PI processes.

Fee & Scholarships 

PGP’s 2020-22 batch’s fee will be 15.30 Lakh. Students can easily pay the programme fee in six installments. There are many other fees such as tuition fees, medical insurance charges, students’ association fees, alumni activity, and related that are already counted or included in this fee.

Scholarships 

Many students require scholarships in order to pursue their studies without worrying about affordability. Therefore, a student can find various scholarship schemes offered by Departments and Ministries of the Government of India.
