Admissions Open for 1 Year MBA (EPGP) 2019-20 at IIM Bangalore
0Admission is open for the Executive Post Graduate Program in Management (EPGP) 2019-20, the one-year full-time residential MBA program at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore.
The deadline for submitting the application forms in Round 1 that began on June 1 is August 30, 2018. Round 2 starts on September 1 with the deadline on December 3, 2018.
IIMB says the program has a cutting-edge curriculum, a comprehensive project, electives across programs, an international immersion, exchange programs and a global network partner school visit.
The students will also have access to IIMB’s innovation and entrepreneurship hub – the NS Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning. They get placement opportunities at senior levels. Scholarship and loan are also available to finance your studies.
Eligibility Criteria
You should be a graduate in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA,
The current batch (2018-19) comprises 73 students with an average GMAT score of 709. Male students number 58 (79.45%) and female 15 (20.55%).
a valid GMAT/GRE score and work experience of a minimum of 5 years as on March 31, 2019. EPGP is tailored for applicants with 5 to 12 years of work experience, but those with more experience could also enrol for the program.
Fees & Other Expenses
The total fee for the current 2018-19 session is Rs 27,88,110. It includes tuition fee of Rs 19,64,500,
Individual Accommodation at Rs 1,50,000, International Immersion at Rs 3,00,000, a refundable deposit of Rs 20,000. GST at 18% on Tuition comes to Rs 3,53,610.
For family accommodation, the applicable charges would be Rs 2,85,500 with the total fee going up to Rs 29,23,610.
The International Immersion fee is indicative. The amount will be restricted to actual expenditure incurred for each student towards travel, accommodation and course fees in the partner school. Any excess or shortfall will be adjusted by way of refund or additional claim. The fee structure is indicative for 2019-20 and is subject to change.
Class Profile
The current batch (2018-19) comprises 73 students with an average GMAT score of 709. Male students number 58 (79.45%) and female 15 (20.55%).
Compared to the previous batch (2016-17), the gender ratio has improved slightly. It was 86% male and 14% female in the Class of 2017.
The average age of the students is 30 years with 36 years as the highest and 27 as the lowest. The average work experience of the cohort is 7.1 years with 5.3 years at the lower end and 12.2 years at the highest.
In this batch, 19 students have international experience. As far as work experience is concerned, 19 students came from the Manufacturing sector, followed by 13 in Oil/Energy/Petroleum, 10 each in IT Service and Engineering, 8 in Others, 7 in IT Products and 2 each in Bank/Financial Institutions, FMCG/Retail and Telecom.
In the educational background, 59 are from Engineering, 8 from Science, 3 from Commerce, 2 from Arts and 1 from Law. Seven students are from IIT and 13 from NIT.
Placements
As far as placements are concerned, 69 students of the 2016-17 batch managed to get roles with a wide spectrum of companies while one student opted out of the process, having chosen to start an entrepreneurial venture.
Three of the students joined their previous employers in new roles and four others took up off campus offers.
Incidentally, the class had 2 out of every 3 students coming from a non-IT background, which was higher than the usual representation of non-IT students in the EPGP cohort. This led to a change in the recruiters with 2 out of every 3 recruiters hiring for the first time from EPGP.
More than 35 recruiters participated in the process including regulars like Accenture, AT Kearney, Dell, Ford, Google, and Microsoft, as well as new recruiters like ABB, Adani, British Telecom, Cognizant Business Consulting, Directi, Hindustan Coca-Cola, MuSigma, Murugappa, Shapoorji Pallonji and Zensar among others.
