Entrepreneurs, Scientists Among 11% Women Students in IIM Calcutta’s MBA Class of 2016
0Entrepreneurs, scientists, mothers are among the students that make up the ninth batch of Post Graduate Program for Executives (PGPEX) at IIM Calcutta.
PGPEX, IIM Calcutta’s globally accredited full time MBA is a one-year full-time programme that accepts a highly selective group of professionals looking to move into senior and top management roles in the industry.
Fifty four students have been selected for the PGPEX program this year, over 11% of whom are female candidates, a significant increase from 6% last year. The Class has an average experience of 104 months and international experience of 19 months.
The Class of 2016 comprises of students from from diverse industries such as marine engineering, nuclear power, energy, defence, virology, water treatment, banking, manufacturing, automobile, consulting, IT & IT Services. PGPEX students come from companies such as Ernst & Young, Deutsche Bank, Standard & Poor’s, Oracle, BHEL among others.
The batch will travel to Mannheim Business School, Germany, and Michael G. Foster School of Business, University of Washington, USA, in August for two intensive weeks of academics and business visits, as part of the international immersion, a highlight of the programme.
During this fortnight, the students will meet business and government leaders, visit leading companies, network, and understand the economic environment of the country. (With inputs from: Economic Times)
