An MBA that Puts You on Track for International Hospitality Management
0The Glion Institute of Higher Education with campuses in Switzerland and London offers an MBA in International Hospitality and Service Industries Management that claims to sharpen the participant’s strategic management skills along with building a professional network for access to upper-management positions within the hospitality, tourism and service industries.
The MBA in hospitality is a New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) accredited, industry-approved program aimed at developing skills in critical thinking, leadership, business data analysis, and financial management. Program Options
Apart from the full time one-year MBA program, Glion also offers a flexible hybrid program (1.5-2 years –1 semester on campus in Switzerland or London, remainder online) as well as an entirely online MBA ( 2 years average pace of study). The start dates for the program are in January 16, April 3, July 24 and October 9 from 2017 onwards. The mid-term break will be from March 27-31. Online MBA, however, starts on December 12, 2016.
Among the advantages of the full time program are that the classes held at the Bulle and London campuses enable face-to-face learning experiences and mentorship with experienced faculty members. The classes are held in an international university setting with students from 97 different countries.
It is meant for those with a bachelor degree – preferably in hospitality, tourism or event management – or a business degree or equivalent qualification. They should have a minimum 2 years of work experience in hospitality or related business in a supervisory or management position.
Immersion Opportunities
The students get ample immersion opportunities in the hospitality sector with nearly 100 company visits throughout the year, plus lectures and conferences with leaders from the industry
The location of the Bulle campus in the French-speaking Gruyère region between Lake Geneva and the capital city of Bern. Provides students a chance to enjoy many outdoor sports such as skiing and hiking in the nearby mountains, an internaitonal business culture and a high quality of life. They will also be able to travel on weekends to neighbouring countries, France, Italy and Germany.
Hybrid & On-line MBAs
The hybrid MBA is for those who have 2 years of work experience in the hospitality industry and who want the flexibility of studying online. While the campus-based courses give you an interactive experience with faculty and students in Switzerland or London, the online portion facilitates you get back into the industry faster and reduces accommodation fees.

Fees
The application fee for campus based program is CHF 250 plus a refundable damage deposit of CHF 1250. The tuition fee for block 1&2 and 3&4 at St. Bulle works out to CHF 24,400 plus CHF 500 for textbooks and learning materials plus CHF 750 health insurance coming to a total CHF 25,650 for each term.
