IIM A’s 1-Year MBA (PGPX) 2018 Placements: Avg. Domestic Salary Rises 25% to Rs 28.8 Lakh
0The Final Placement for the 12th batch of the one-year postgraduate program in management for executives (PGPX) at IIM Ahmedabad saw a 25.5% increase in the maximum domestic package at Rs 54.60 lakh per annum, a median of Rs 28.40 lakh per annum and an average salary of Rs 28.84 lakh per annum.
In 2017, the maximum domestic package was Rs 43 lakh and the average salary Rs 23.48 lakh. While there was no international package last year, the maximum package was US$70,252 per annum and average US$67,261 this year.
The rolling placement process that started on November 14, 2017 and continued till 3 months after the convocation, concluding in June 2018. The Final Placement data was released by IIM Ahmedabad after the audit by Brickwork Ratings under the Indian Placement Reporting Standards (IPRS).
While 113 students were eligible for placements out of 115 graduating in 2018, 15 students did not seek placement through the institute, one was company sponsored or already employed, 2 were returning to the family business or starting a new business and 12 had sought placement outside the campus placement process.
The recruiters looking for candidates to fill middle and senior management slots offered them positions such as Chief Financial Officer, Zonal Head, Senior Director, Vice President, Senior Program Manager, Director, Chief Manager, Senior Manager, Digital Specialist and Principal Product Manager.
Of the total 98 who participated in the campus placement, 94 accepted job offers while 4 remained without placement.
The recruiters looking for candidates to fill middle and senior management slots offered them positions such as Chief Financial Officer, Zonal Head, Senior Director, Vice President, Senior Program Manager, Director, Chief Manager, Senior Manager, Digital Specialist and Principal Product Manager.
The recruiters included Accenture, Adidas AG, Airtel, Apttus, Biocon, CSS Corp, Gartner, HCCB, ICICI Bank, IDBI Asset Management, Indian Ports Association, Indigene, KEC International, Mastercard, McKinsey & Co., Microsoft, Persistent Systems, Stellium Envista, Vizury Interactive and Zensar.
Accenture and Persistent Systems came up with the largest number of offers. There were five international offers.
Sectorwise, the maximum number of 38 offers were in Information Technology, followed by 12 in Logistics, 11 in Energy, 9 in BFSI, 7 in Pharmaceutical/Healthcare, 6 in Consulting, 4 each in Others (including travel, tourism, telecom & media) and Conglomerate, 3 in Consumer Goods (FMCG).
Of these, international offers were made in Consulting and FMCG (2 each) and 1 in Others.
In function-wise classification, System/IT had the maximum offers at 30, including 2 international. Marketing & Sales comes next with 19, including 1 international offer followed by Consulting with 18, including 2 international, Strategy 10, Operations/Supply Chain 9, Finance 4, General Management 3, Human Resources 1.
