IIM U’s founding PGPX Class of 2014 finds its wings: placement progress report
0IIM Udaipur has released the interim placement report for its one-year full time MBA (PGPX). The Post Graduate Programme for Executives is a 15-month dual degree programme in Global Supply Chain Management, started at IIM Udaipur in the year 2013 in collaboration with Purdue University, USA to cater to the rising demand for supply chain professionals.
The first year of placements for the Post Graduate Programme for Executives (PGPX) saw interest and participation from a diverse group of recruiters. The spectrum of recruiters covered sectors such as Management Consulting, Information Technology, Analytics and Logistics offering a wide variety of roles spanning across Consulting, Operations, Analytics, Government Advisory, Product Management, and Strategy.
This year’s placement process saw interest from recruiters such as Accenture Strategy, daVIZta India Pvt. Ltd., Dell International Services, Ernst & Young, Manhattan Associates, MindTree Ltd., Mu Sigma Business Solutions, Snowman Logistics etc.
Manhattan Associates was the largest recruiter, hiring a total of 5 students from campus. The highest domestic offer was made by daVIZta India Pvt. Ltd. As per IIM U, the hiring was in the lateral domain and the supply chain depth coupled with the international exposure of the candidates landed the students fairly senior positions.
IIM Udaipur is signatory to Indian Placement Reporting Standards (IPRS), as laid down by IIM Ahmedabad and followed by a number of Management Institutes in India. The school will eventually be releasing the externally audited version of the Placement Report for the PGPX Class of 2014.

Summer placements report
All the 16 students of the founding class were offered a gamut of roles in the Supply Chain domain – Logistics, Transportation, Planning, Sourcing and Procurement. More than 20 companies participated in the process, and 12 students from the PGPX opted for an internship.
As per the B-school. the highlight of the process was the diversity of sectors represented by these companies and the number of projects offered by them.
Bharti-Walmart recruited exclusively from IIM U for its Supply Chain Planning function. One of India’s leading e-commerce companies, Jabong.com recruited 3 students for its Gurgaon headquarters and offered them strategic roles in core operations with one of them getting a unique opportunity to work in a start-up Jabongworld.com. Hyundai offered a coveted project in the end-to-end network design and optimization. Raymond Limited, one of India’s largest apparel company, hired exclusively for a rare Supply Chain Transformational project. Cummins has offered PPIs (pre-placements interviews) to both the hires for their exemplary performance in designing and improving its Indian distribution network. One of the engineering majors, Siemens offered 3 key roles for its Mumbai Corporate office. The FMCG sector was well represented by Cargill, which offered internal supply-chain consulting roles for IT implementation. Astra-Zeneca, the pharmaceutical giant, offered a key role in the distribution network design. The manufacturing giant, J.C.Bamford recruited one student for planning & implementing a greener sustainable supply chain. Tikona Digital Networks, one of India’s top 3 broadband service provider, offered 2 critical projects in telecom forecasting & supply chain process mapping domains.
