IIM Udaipur’s PGPX is a 15-month residential dual degree program that provides a specialization in Global Supply Chain Management in association with the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University in the United States. It is also among the few to offer summer internship placement, usually associated with the longer 2-year programs.
IIM Udaipur has successfully concluded its Summer Internship placements for the 2018-2019 batch of the 1-year MBA (PGPX) participants. Students bagged internships with renowned names in the industry such as Johnson & Johnson, Big Basket, Tupperware, Tata Projects, Narayana Healthcare and the like.
The PGPX program aims at providing students with a solid foundation in management fundamentals along with a specialization in Global Supply Chain Management.
During the 15-month program, the students spend seven months at IIM Udaipur strengthening management fundamentals and two months at various organizations pursuing their summer internships in the field of Supply Chain Management.
They then head to the United States in August for a five-month rigorous specialization in Global Supply Chain Management. The students get to experience the best of both the worlds through the experiential learning modules through this one-of-a-kind MBA, says IIM-U.
The current batch comprises of 18 highly experienced participants with relevant and diverse industry exposure in IT, Manufacturing, Fashion, Healthcare and the like.
The institution has set a new high for itself by setting an exceptional record of securing internships for the PGPX students in a short span of 3 months of the course commencement.
For admission to Purdue University, applicants must submit one Language Assessment Test. They can choose from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
As the PGPX is a Supply Chain focused course, internship roles were offered primarily across functions such as Logistics, Warehouse Management, Sales & Operations Planning, Data Analytics, Operations Route Optimisation etc.
This year witnessed a better response from the industry compared to the previous year with several new organizations offering supply chain roles to students. With the ever-increasing importance of efficient supply chain expertise in India, IIM Udaipur hopes to open up new avenues for the students in this field in the coming years.
The program is for candidates with a minimum of 10+2 years of school education and a minimum of 4 years of university education with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline.
With the GMAT score as the standardized test score for the program, the candidate should also possess relevant work experience of a minimum of 36 months.
For admission to Purdue University, applicants must submit one Language Assessment Test. They can choose from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
Selection of students is undertaken jointly by IIM Udaipur and Purdue University. The admission process for PGPX is completed in two parts. In the first part, applicants to IIMU are shortlisted on the basis of the eligibility criteria and called for the second round where they are screened through a personal interview.
A provisional offer of admission is made on the basis of a weighted score of the candidate’s demographic profile, academic profile, course relevant work experience (SCM), score in GMAT and personal interview
Candidates who have successfully completed part 1 then complete the application requirements for admission to the MS course at Purdue University
After initial screening and a personal interview process at Purdue University, the applicants are made an offer of admission by Krannert School of Management. Following this, a final offer of admission is made to the student by IIMU.
