IIM Calcutta has announced admissions for its revamped Post Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Management (PGCHM) with the last date of filing of applications set on February 10.
The 1-year full time residential program is aimed at Healthcare professionals. Specifically, hospital administrators, doctors, professionals from medical and allied sectors such as pharmaceuticals and medical insurance as well as healthcare entrepreneurs.
The Indian healthcare sector has been growing at a tremendous pace and is projected to become a US$ 280 billion industry by 2020. This, in turn, has increased the demand for skilled healthcare professionals to meet the managerial challenges of this sector.
The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta entered this space in 2015 by launching a program titled Healthcare Executive Management Programme (HEMP).
Based on the experience and learning from this program, the IIM has remodeled and relaunched it this year. It aims to address the specific needs of aspiring healthcare practitioners and administrators by offering a combination of academic modules in the broad field of management and hands-on practical experience by way of Industry Immersion Programme (IIP).
PGCHM will draw upon a select reputed network of healthcare service providers for effective delivery of the programme in both its dimensions – the academic as well as industry immersion.
