ISB Announces 10 Full Scholarships
0The Indian School of Business (ISB), with campuses in Hyderabad and Mohali, has rolled out two new initiatives as part of the outreach efforts for its one-year flagship PGP (post-graduate programme) in management.
To attract more talented professionals, the school has decided to introduce 10 merit based full tuition waivers (the tuition fee at ISB is Rs 20 lakh per student) for the first time ever, starting next year. It has also launched an ISB 360 mobile app that gives an insider’s view of the ISB experience.
To attract more talented professionals, the school has decided to introduce 10 merit based full tuition waivers (the tuition fee at ISB is Rs 20 lakh per student) for the first time ever, starting next year, say Rangnekar and Mahajan.
ISB’s dean Ajit Rangnekar and deputy dean Savita Mahajan spoke to ET on the initiatives:
What sparked the idea of a tuition waiver?
Ajit Rangnekar: I lost a visually-challenged student who I was hoping would join us, to Stanford, which offered him a full fee waiver. We are in the business of attracting the best talent; we don’t want to lose those students to other institutes. So, we did a bit of soulsearching. We decided to award full tuition waivers for the first time to a pool of select students purely on merit.
How will you identify students for this?
Savita Mahajan: We have an eight-member team comprising faculty, senior administrators and alumni who will look at a combination of academic brilliance and other attributes to zero in on deserving students. This would include GMAT scores and academic performance, quality of work done, exposure and leadership qualities.
