The Indian School of Business (ISB) has increased the fee for its One Year Full Time MBA (PGP) from Rs 24 lakh to Rs.26.7 lakh. The programme has now become the costliest MBA programme in India.
The fee hike could affect the attractiveness of the PGP at ISB. ISB’s One Year MBA despite being named PGP, with a class averaging 5 years of work experience does not compete with IIM’s PGP which is a two-year pre-experience programme for recent graduates. Placements of ISB’s PGP, at a Rs 18.16 lakh average salary for the Class of 2015, outshine the placements of IIM’s PGP programmes easily. But when you compare the placements of ISB’s One Year MBA to that of IIM’s One Year MBA courses (which still cost less than ISB’s PGP), the story is very different: IIM A reported an average salary of Rs 26.74 lakh, IIM Indore reported an average salary of Rs 18.64 lakh and IIM B reported an average domestic salary of Rs 22.59 lakh for their One Year MBA programmes in 2014.
