In line with the government’s ambitious ‘Make In India’ campaign, Indian School of Business (ISB) will soon launch an executive programme in manufacturing and operations management.
The programme is meant for working professionals and aims to help them develop a better understanding of global business opportunities in the manufacturing sector.
The Certificate Programme in Manufacturing and Operations Management (CPMOM) is a part-time course of one-year duration. Students will receive a certificate on completion of the course.
ISB plans to start the course from May, 2015.
“Manufacturing and infrastructure are the two next big things for India and the new programme is ISB’s contribution to the Prime Minister’s ‘Make in India’ call.
“We aim to bring global best practices to India and contribute our bit to the movement,” Pradeep Singh, who is ISB’s Deputy Dean, told PTI.
Singh is also the CEO of the school’s Mohali campus.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government is working hard on the ‘Make In India’ campaign to make the country a global manufacturing hub.
The Certificate Programme in Manufacturing and Operations Management (CPMOM) is a joint initiative of Munjal Institute of Global Manufacturing and the Centre for Executive Education at ISB.
Mainly for mid-level professionals as well as entrepreneurs running small and medium enterprises, the course would be spread across six modules and can be pursued alongside work.
“CPMOM would help candidates to have a wholesome picture about the manufacturing sector and prepare them to face challenges in the long term,” ISB’s Ashok Mittal said.
Mittal is the faculty director for CPMOM.
Since this is an executive course and students will continue working with their existing employers while they pursue the course, in all probability, the institute will not be extending placement support for this programme.
