

The Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management (SJMSOM) at IIT Bombay offers a 2-year full-time MBA program, a doctoral program, an EMBA program and short term MDP courses.
For the MBA program, you should have a four-year Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 60% marks in the aggregate (55% for those in SC/ST category) or a minimum 6.5 CPI (6 for SC/ST category) out of 10. Those who have CA/ICWA qualifications with the above-mentioned scores are also eligible to apply
Those shortlisted by the admission committee will be called for a Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). Those in the list should book the slots for WAT and PI as soon as the shortlist is released.

Step II: Select and click on the course of your choice
Step III: Press the “Online Application” tab on MBA Online application homepage
Step IV: Press the ‘New User? Click here to Register’ button in the registration page
Step V: Enter your e-mail id and click on “Register”
Step VI: You will get an email with the activation URL at the specified address. You should click on the activation URL within 12 hours and fill in the details as directed.
Step VII: Once the requested details are filled up, submit it as directed. Please note that the registration process will be completed only after this final step
Step VIII: You should login using the e-mail used for registration to access the online application form
Step IX: Take care fill in all the details asked for in one go before the expiry of the session in 50 minutes to prevent any possibility of loss of data. You should press the “Fill Form” button to start entering the required information in the application form
Step X: You have a choice of using the “Submit Finally” button once the application form is completed or “Save and Continue Later” button to modify the form later

Q: When does PhD program admission begin at SJMSOM?
A: PhD program applications are accepted twice in a year, during the Autumn semester (July session) and spring semester (January session).
Q: What is the selection criteria for PhD program at SJMSOM?
A: The evaluation is based on the academic achievements and a 1500-word research proposal. After this, the candidates sit for an entrance test (an aptitude test comprising English Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Analytical Reasoning and Data Interpretation). Next, they appear for an interview. Both the entrance test and interview are usually held on the same day. Those selected will get the intimation through email.
Q: Will GMAT/GRE score be accepted for PhD programat SJMSOM?
Yes, the PhD program accepts valid GMAT/GRE scores. No minimum score level is set for the program.
Q: What is the stipend received by a PhD student?
A: The PhD students get the stipend in accordance with the MHRD/ UGC guidelines. Full-time research scholars (Teaching Assistance (TA) category) are entitled to Rs 25,000 per month during the first 2 years and Rs 28,000/ month for next 3 years subject to fulfillment of required criteria as prescribed by funding institute/ department/ agency.
Q: Are there any scholarship scheme for students?
A: Yes, scholarships are available for students on the basis of the performance in the semester exams. Around 20% of the students claim scholarships from several endowment funds. Apart from these, some other scholarships are available centrally from IIT-B. SC and ST candidates are exempted from paying the tuition fees.
