The final CAT 2020 answer key is unlikely to be released as the objections raised by candidates have been found to be invalid.
IIMCAT published the following statements on their official website, “The objections received against questions in CAT 2020 were carefully examined by the expert panels. The answer key remains unchanged after careful examination of the various objections that had been received and examined by the expert panel”.
IIM Kozhikode released the preliminary CAT answer key along with the question paper and the objection form on November 29, 2020. The window to raise an objection to the official response sheet was opened from December 4 to 6, till 5:00 pm, by paying an amount of Rs. 1000 as fees. Once the window to challenge CAT answer key closes, no request for the same will be entertained. The revised CAT answer key will be released after taking into consideration objections filed by candidates. The CAT result 2020 will be announced by January 6, 2020.

CAT Answer Key: Raising Objection
The IIMCAT introduced this provision of raising objections in 2018. The test takers can challenge the official answer of any question asked in the exam if they are convinced it is wrong. If the objection raised is correct, the official answer will be revised. The objection fee will also be refunded to candidates whose objections are found to be valid.
How to Submit CAT Answer Key Objections
In case a candidate wishes to challenge the CAT 2020 answer key, they can fill the CAT answer key objection form. The candidates can fill the objection form by using their CAT credentials. An Objection fee of Rs 1000 per question will be charged and the fee should be paid online.

Raising Objection to CAT Answers: Points to Remember
- The objection fee will not be refunded in case of an invalid objection
- Objections once submitted cannot be edited
- There is no limit to the number of objections that can be raised
- CAT 2020 result will be announced only after the objection process
- No objections to the answer key will be accepted after the release of the final CAT answer key
- Re-checking the question paper is not permitted under any given circumstances

How to Calculate CAT score
To calculate the CAT score with the help of the answer key, follow the steps below.
- For each correct answer 3 marks are awarded, which means if the candidate has got 80 answers right, the score will be 80×3= 240 marks.
- As there is negative marking, -1 is deducted for every incorrect answer. So, if a candidate has marked 20 questions incorrectly, then the negative marks are -20.
- Subtract total marks deducted from total marks scored to get CAT Raw score which is 280 – 20 = 260.

CAT Marking Scheme
The candidates must be aware of the CAT marking scheme to rightly assess the answer key and raise valid objections if required. The table below indicates the marking scheme of the CAT 2020 exam:
