Steps To Select IELTS Exam Dates And Location

Following are the steps to be followed to book the Test center and the IELTS Test date:

  • Go to the British Council official website and click on Register
  • Select ‘Find Test Date’ and enter in the month city and module of choice
  • You will be then redirected to the IELTS Application: Check Test Availability page
  • Candidates are then required to select the desired date and click ‘Apply’

With the growing demand of students planning to travel abroad for higher education purposes and requiring IELTS for the same, IDP IELTS India has started to conduct the IELTS Online Exam all through the months of July and August in Tier 1 cities. While in the rest cities, certain days are reserved for the test in July and August. Considering the college registration in mind, the candidates should check the dates for tests on the IDP IELTS India website. Those opting for offline mode of the test should also check the relevant available dates on the official website.

British Council Test Dates

The British Council is another widely accepted institution that administers the IELTS For the candidate willing to travel abroad for higher education purposes, the British Council is another option that administers IELTS examination. The test dates for both IELTS General and IELTS Academic is available across the country. The online mode of IELTS examination is conducted throughout July and August but those going for pen-paper mode will have to check available dates.

IELTS 2020 Test Centers in India

The two official bodies responsible for conducting IELTS examination, hold the test in 78 locations in India, out of which 40 locations are under British Council and the remaining 38 by IDP Education. IELTS exam has a fixed fee of INR 13,250 irrespective of the organizational body. The candidate must choose the location and date that suits their requirements the most.

Can I propone my IELTS exam date?

Candidates have an option to postpone or cancel the event, but cannot be proponed. The cancellation or postponement can happen either in person or through email only.

  • If you postpone or cancel your application more than 5 weeks before the test date, you will receive a refund of less than 25% of the administrative fee.
  • Candidates canceling the exam less than 5 weeks ahead of the exam will not receive any refund.
  • Those who do not appear for the exam will also not receive any refund.
