How to calculate IELTS score?
The overall IELTS score is calculated by taking an average of the scores in the four sections – Listening, writing, Speaking and Reading. If the result comes out to be in decimal point, then it is approximated to the nearest half or whole band. For example, if the mean of the scores in four sections comes as 5.25, then it is rounded off to the nearest half that is 5.5.
Enquiry on Result
Enquiry on Result (EoR) means having your IELTS test re-marked. The candidate has to apply within 3 weeks of the test date for an EoR. Either one or all sections have to be remarked for EoR. For the process, you have to download the EoR form, submit your original TRF and pay the enquiry fee. The entire process of remarking the exam takes additional 6-8 weeks of time. If your results get an improvement, you are entitled to a full refund of the enquiry fee. Additional copies of the TRF can be sent to receiving colleges/universities at no cost. However, if there’s no improvement in the result then there’s no refund.
