IIFT Delhi offers various PG programmes and students can choose from many programmes in Management such as MBA, Executive MBA as well as doctoral and other certificate programmes. The eligibility criteria is specific and different for each course. However, one common elgibility criteria is that all students must be Graduates. The eligibility criteria for each of the programmes / courses as well as the IIFT exam is explained in the article below.
The IIFT exam is held for admission into MBA in International Business, the MBA programme offered by IIFT. The IIFT entrance exam is conducted in online mode once every year. The IIFT exam for admission in 2021 will be held in the first week of December 2020. The eligibility criteria for IIFT exam, MBA-IB course, EPGP, Diploma and Certificate courses is explained below.
Eligibility for MBA International Business – IIFT 2021
Domestic Candidates
- The aspirant must be graduates and must have a Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years’ duration in any subject. The aspirants shouls have graduated with at least 50 per cent marks (45 per cent for SC/ST and PwD candidates) from a recognized university.
- Candidates in their final year of Graduation can also appear for the IIFT exam, however they will have to furnish proof their graduation i.e. the Bachelors degree by October 7, 2021.
- For the IIFT exam there is no age limit to apply

Foreign nationals and NRI candidates
- The aspirant must be graduates and must have a Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years’ durationin any subject. The aspirants shouls have graduated with at least 50 per cent marks from a recognized university.
- Candidates in their final year of Graduation can also appear for the IIFT exam, however they will have to furnish proof their graduation i.e. the Bachelors degree by October 7, 2021.
- A foreign national or a NRI candidate should have been residing outside India for a period of not less than 18 months as on December 31, 2020. The candidate should have been outside India during the IIFT examination window
- As proof of they residing outside India for a period of 18 months, aspirants must furnish a certificate from the Indian Embassy / High Commission /Consulate of the country where they are currently residing, which states that they have been residing outside India for the aforementioned time period.
- The Foreign Nationals sitting for the exam must have valid documents to travel to India such as valid Passport.
- The Foreign Nationals will be required to give the exam if they are present in India at the time of the IIFT exam.
- The Foreign National candidates should have sat for their GMAT after January 1, 2019. They will need to produce their GMAT score latest by February 15, 2021
- Candidates are required to give the undertaking that the candidate has not appeared for any other MBA entrance exam in the year (2020).
- Children of NRIs and NRI-sponsored candidates will not be considered under this category.

IIFT 2020: Reservation Policy
The reservation for admission to IIFT is for candidates belonging to SC/ST and PwD category. The table below explains the percentage of seats reserved for such students.

MBA International Business Admission Process
Domestic Students: After the IIFT 2021 exam and depending on the student’s score, Foreign Nationals and NRI Students: On the basis of General Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).
Candidates that meet the eligibility criteria as explained hereinbefore will be eligible to sit for the IIFT 2021 exam. However, clearing just the written exam will not be enough for admission to IIFT. There will be a two-stage admission procedure which the students will then have to go through
Stage 1: IIFT Exam to be held throughout across major cities including – Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Allahabad, Bhubaneshwar, Guwahati, Indore, , Chennai, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Dehradun Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Jamshedpur, Lucknow, Nagpur, and Visakhapatnam.
Stage 2: Students shortlisted on the basis of their score in the IIFT 2021 exam will be accepted for the next round of shortlisting which include, essay write-up, group discussion and interview.
This Stage of shortlisting will take place in the month of January/ February 2021 in cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Kolkata.
Students that successfully clear both the aforementioned rounds of the admission process, will be mentioned on a merit list that will be created by the Institute on the basis of which students will be called for admission to the Institute.
IIFT 2021 Eligibility for Executive Post Graduate Diploma Programmes in International Business:
- The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or its equivalent degree. They should have secured 50 per cent aggregate marks and should have a minimum managerial work experience of minimum 5 years
- The candidate must possess a Post-Graduate Degree/ Engineering Degree from a recognised university or its equivalent. They should have secured 50 per cent aggregate marks and should have a minimum managerial work experience of minimum 3 years
- Although there is no relaxation on marks for students under the reserved category, but there is a reservation of seats in accordance with the Government rules

Executive Post Graduate Diploma Programme in International Business Admission Process:
Admission in this course is based on Group Discussion and Personal Interview(GD/PI) by the IIFT faculty. Students are selected for the GD/PI round on the basis of their application by the IIFT faculty.
IIFT 2021 Eligibility for Certificate Programmes
IIFT offers short-term certificate courses. Moreover, IIFT offers only three Certificate Courses which are
- Programme in Capital & Financial Markets
- Certificate Programme in Global Trade Logistics
- Operations Certificate Programme in Export import Management.
The eligibility criteria and admission process for these programmes is explained below:
- A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized Indian or Foreign University. Diploma holders with two years of full time work experience post their Dipoloma are also eligible.
- For certificate courses, there is no age limit.
- Students are selected for admission to these certificate courses on the basis of personal interviews conducted at IIFT’s Delhi campus
