The first step in the selection process is to write the NMAT 2019 exam. After clearing the NMAT 2019 exam, candidates are selected for each of the rounds as part of the admission process. The following are the selection rounds-
The NMAT selection process comprises of Group Discussion (GD) or Case Discussion (CD), Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT). The NMAT participating institutes conduct these individually as per their own schedule.
For the Group Discussion (GD) round of the selection process, candidates are split into teams of close to 7-10 members and each team is given a topic for discussion.
Or
Case Discussion:
Some institutes conduct Case Discussions (CD) instead of GD. In a CD round, a structured discussion of a specific scenario is presented. The selected students have to come up with a minimum of 2-3 meaningful entries within a short span of time, say 15 minutes.
After the GD round comes the Personal Interview round. In this round, the candidate has to face an interview that is conducted by the B-School’s internal selection committee and independent experts of the field. The panel can ask a wide variety of questions ranging from current affairs to general knowledge.
Many colleges also conduct a Written Ability Test along with the GD and PI as part of the admission process. The writing and communication skills of the candidate is tested based on a topic assigned.
