The SAT is an important exam as most universities require SAT scores to evaluate your admission application. This exam is mainly written by students wanting to pursue an undergraduate course in the US, Canada, etc. The SAT exam assesses the written, verbal and mathematical skills. In 2016, a New SAT format was introduced.

SAT exam is of two types:
SAT – The SAT exam evaluates the candidate’s reading, writing, and mathematics skills. This exam is 3 hours and 45 minutes long. Most students start their preparations in class 11 and appear for the exam in class 12. SAT exam chiefly tests the skills learnt in school.
Subject Test – Subject Tests are for one hour and tests the candidate’s knowledge of the subject chosen. The subjects include English, History, Mathematics, Science, and Foreign Languages. Not all colleges ask for the Subject Test scores so it is vital to find out the admission requirements of the college before appearing for SAT.
There are no distinct eligibility criteria for SAT. You should ideally be in high school to appear for this exam.
Step 1: Go to the official website: www.collegeboard.org and create your profile
Step 2: Once you have successfully created your profile, enter your personal details.
Step 3: Create your student profile
Step 4: Pick a suitable Test Date and Test Center that is close to your place
Step 5: Upload your picture.
Step 6: Pay the stipulated exam fees using either your credit card or PayPal.

The SAT exam is conducted in New Delhi, Bangalore, Calcutta, Cochin, Pune, Mussoorie, Kodaikanal, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Chennai. There are multiple test centres in these cities.
