SNAP Examination 2020: Everything you want to Know
SNAP 2020 is a standardized online aptitude test that will be held in December at test centers in more than 90 cities across India with the notification released in August.
Symbiosis International (Deemed) University conducts the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) for admission to MBA/MSc programs offered by its participating institutes.
The test is similar to the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) and Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) required for admission to MBA programs in top international schools. Other equivalents in India are NMAT by GMAC, Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) for admission to Xavier group of institutions.
These exams test your basic knowledge in language, mathematics and analytical skills, considered essential in management studies. Thus, you need only high school level knowledge of the subjects to appear for the test.
SNAP 2020 Eligibility Criteria
You should have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PWD candidates) or equivalent from a recognized university or institute. While final year students are also eligible to appear for the exam, their admission will remain provisional until they provide evidence of having successfully completed the course.
International students or those who have graduated from an international university will be required to obtain a certificate of equivalence from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

SNAP Exam Pattern
SNAP exam pattern underwent a major change in 2019. The general awareness section was done away with along with changes in the marking scheme. Under the revised SNAP exam pattern, the question paper has only three sections, namely, General English, Quantitative-Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency and Analytical & Logical Reasoning.
Around 110 questions will be in the Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) and non-MCQ format (you have to type in the answer). The MCQs are referred to as Normal Questions and non-MCQs Special Questions. Here’s a look at the main features of SNAP exam pattern 2020.

SNAP Marking Scheme
- The 5 Special Questions in QA, DI-DS section of the SNAP question paper carry 2 marks each. For normal questions in this section, 1 mark will be given for the right answer
- For every right answer In the VARC and A-LR sections, 1.5 marks will be awarded
- For each wrong answer, 25% marks will be deducted both for Normal Questions as well as for Special Questions.

SNAP Syllabus 2020
The syllabus for the SNAP exam has Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Ability, Analytical & Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency.
The exam has two sections. The first one groups together General English has Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning and Verbal Ability. The second section comprises Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency.

SNAP Registration 2020
SNAP 2020 registrations will begin in the second week of August.
The candidates will be required to register on the official website of SNAP and fill an online application form to sit for the entrance test. They should remit the SNAP application fee either through internet banking or credit/debit cards or offline by demand draft. The steps for SNAP registration cum application process is given below.
- Load the SNAP 2020 website in a new window
- Register as New User by pressing the ‘Apply Now ‘ button
- Key in your name, phone number, email ID and other particulars
- An OTP will be sent to your mobile number for email verification
- Enter OTP and verify your e-mail ID
- Pay the application fees
- Fill in relevant details in the application form
- Select desired PG courses and institutes
- Pay the course fee
- Click on save/submit button to complete the process

SNAP Admit Card 2020
You could expect the online release of SNAP 2020 Exam admit card at the official website in December first week. For downloading your SNAP admit card, log on to the site with your login ID and password. The downloading facility will be there till the exam day. - Enter your email ID and password
- You will see SNAP admit card 2020 appear on the screen

SNAP 2020 Result
SNAP result 2020 is expected to be declared in the second week of January. It will then be available on the official website. The candidates will be able to download their scorecards by using their login ID and password. SNAP 2020 result cum scorecard will contain each candidate’s sectional and overall scores as well as shortlist status. Here’s how to download SNAP 2020 result:

- Click on the tab ‘SNAP 2020 scorecard’
- Enter your ID and password
- The scorecard will appear on the screen

SNAP Selection Process
The participating institutes will start the admission process once the SNAP 2020 result is declared. The shortlisting of candidates who cleared the test will take place for the next stage of Group Exercise (GE), Personal Interaction (PI) and Written Ability Test.
The institutes are individually responsible for the fixing of minimum cut offs and shortlisting of candidates for GE/PI/WAT. All those who meet the SNAP cut off will be allowed to participate in GE/PI/WAT. The shortlisted candidate’s academic record and performance in SNAP, GE/PI/WAT are evaluated for the final selection.
