0Admission is open for the one year full-time MBA program 2019-20 batch at the Melbourne Business School with classes starting in August.
With the Early Round and Round 1 application deadlines already over, Round 2 deadline is on January 14, 2019, interview invitation by January 15 and final decision notification on May 3. Round 3 application (international closing) deadline is March 31, interview invitation on April 15 and final decision on May 3. Round 4 (Domestic closing date) deadline is on April 23, interview invitation on May 6 and the final decision on May 20.
The school describes its MBA as an intensive experience, designed for maximum career impact. Along with developing the business knowledge of the participants, stress is placed on their gaining an adaptive mindset and the ability to absorb and apply learnings. They also learn to build resilience and develop networking skills.
It also has a Personal Effectiveness Program for leadership and career development. The students also get exposure to real-world business issues through regular interactions with CEOs and business leaders as part of the integrated Entrepreneurial Mindset curriculum.
Eligibility Criteria
You should have a good GMAT score. Recent students had achieved an average of 705 or higher. GRE scores are not accepted. A minimum of 2 years work experience is mandatory.
The shortlisted candidates will be required to participate in an interview. An important part of the selection process, the interview could be completed over the phone, via Skype or in person.
Along with the application form, you should submit an Academic transcript (and any postgraduate academic transcripts if completed) and proof of citizenship or residency. You should have an excellent command of English and submit a copy of IELTS or TOEFL score if required. You also need to submit personal statements relating to your goals and how you can contribute to the program along with the names and contact details of two professional referees.
Candidates are assessed individually against this criteria but the final selection for the cohort is based on gender balance, diversity of industry, academic background and nationality with restrictions on the number of students from any one country/region.

Once the Admissions Office receives feedback from the interviewers, your application will be re-evaluated and then presented to the Selection Committee. The Selection Committee will make the final decision on each applicant. Successful applicants will be notified of the outcome via email. Applicants with a successful interview outcome will receive an offer of admission. This offer will also include any scholarship award.
Fees & Other Expenses
The program fee is A$89,500. It covers all program costs, including flights and accommodation for the Business in Asia field trip. You must, however, set apart approximately $560 for visas.
A non-refundable acceptance deposit of A$8,900 is needed to hold your place. It will be offset against your first fee instalment once you have completed the online enrolment process.
International students must also take out medical insurance for the duration of their stay. The cost is approximately A$729 per year, based on 2018 prices, (more for a couple or family) and paid with your first fee instalment.
