One Year MBA in India Rankings

The criteria used to rank one-year MBA programs in India is not nearly as comprehensive as the criteria used to rank two-year MBA programs (in India!) There are only a handful of esteemed global publications that mention top-notch one-year Indian MBA programs. Two of these are the Financial Times London and Outlook.

It must be mentioned that the FT Global MBA Rankings rank IIM Bangalore’s EPGP, IIM Ahmedabad’s PGPX, and IIM Calcutta’s PGPEX programs. Their two MBA programs are NOT included in these rankings. The reason being that the FT Rankings only include those MBA programs that require all applicants to have work experience. The one-year MBA programs that the IIMs offer also require work experience. However, the two-year MBA/PGPM programs don’t have this requirement.

Outlook One Year MBA Rankings for Indian B-schools

Outlook is a major current affairs magazine. It published one-year MBA rankings for 2018 on September 26. 2018. Its rankings gave more weightage for perception. More than 50% of the total 1,000 points for ranking went towards the selection process, the institute’s image, academic excellence, and personality development. However, major inaccuracies don’t make these rankings reliable.

Top Ranked One Year MBA Colleges in India – In Detail

ISB Hyderabad PGP

The FT Global Rankings gave ISB Hyderabad PGP 23rd place in Global B-schools rankings. This is the highest ranking in India for global business schools that the ISB has received to date. This position makes this one-year MBA program India’s second-best one-year MBA college.

People who want to apply to this program must have a valid GMAT/GRE score and at least 2 years of full-time work experience. The average GMAT score is 709.

IIM  Bangalore EPGP

According to the FT Global Rankings, IIM Calcutta PGPEX is India’s third-best one-year MBA program. This school has a global ranking of 44. This puts this in fourth place in terms of one-year MBA rankings in India. These rankings are given to top one-year MBA programs.

IIM Calcutta offers the PGPEX one-year MBA program. It also offers a Post Graduate Program for Executives (PGPEX). This is a full-time residential program for Executives who have at more than 5 years of full-time professional work experience.

IIM Ahmedabad PGPX

The IIM Ahmedabad PGPX program comes in 48th place among the global b-schools that the FT Global Rankings evaluate. The FT Global Rankings of Indian one-year MBA programs put it in 4th place.

Applicants must have at least 4 years of full-time professional work experience to be accepted into the PGPX at IIM Ahmedabad. It’s a residential full-time MBA program. 140 students were enrolled for the 2019-2020 academic year. 32 of these were women. The average age of the student body was 32 years. The average candidate has 8.9 years of work experience. All applicants must have a fairly high and valid GMAT/GRE score.

The average GMAT score is 702 and the average GRE score is 320.

IIM Indore EPGP

IIM Indore’s EPGP program has recently appeared in the FT Global Rankings for the first time. It received the 94th position and was deemed to be India’s 5th best MBA program (according to the rankings!)
