Praxis Business School considers the 1-year PGP Business Analytics program as its flagship course aimed at executives with 2 to 5 years work experience seeking to improve their career prospects in the Finance sector.
The school, with campuses in Kolkata and Bangalore, was among the participants at OneConnect 2017 event at Cyberhub in Gurgaon on September 27.
The event was organised by OneYearMBA.co.in and its sister website TwoYearMBAWorld.com to help MBA aspirants planning to join 1-year MBA and related programs meet representatives of business schools and clear their doubts on various aspects of the programs.
Harish Dalwaipatan, Head-Marketing, Praxis Business School said the PGP class was small with just 35 to 40 students. The school has two intakes in a year, in January and July.
They have to appear for an interview with a panel comprising representatives from Praxis and the industry at any of the following centres in Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi and Patna.
Asked about placements, he said the program has recorded 85% to 90% with the graduates managing to get an average salary of Rs 8-16 lakh. The quality of the cohort was evident with repeat recruiters turning up at the placements. Praxis was the first to introduce the 1-year full-time analytics program in India, way back in 2011, he said.
The program is aimed at equipping students with the tools, techniques and skills to enable a seamless absorption into the domain of Analytics and grow into the roles of Data Scientists. It is co-created and co-delivered with Knowledge Support from PwC and ICICI Bank.
The applicants should preferably have a Math background and be comfortable with computer coding. They must have a minimum of 60% in their class X, XII and Graduation. They should have completed their graduation in BE/BTech/ME/MTech; MBA/ PGDM; BCA/ MCA
About the admission process, he said applications could be submitted online at www.praxis.ac.in . The forms will also be available at all the centres of IMS Learning Resources.
The scores of Praxis Admission Test (PAT)/CAT / XAT / GMAT / GRE (Last three years) are accepted. Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of assessment test score and profile.

The total program fee for the next Spring batch (January 2018 ) would be Rs 5,15,000 along with a refundable caution deposit of Rs 10,000, he added.
Regarding the ONEConnect event, he praised Cyberhub as an ideal location. In terms of footfalls, he said it was low considering the specialised nature of the program.
Apart from the Business Analytics program, Praxis also runs a 16-weeks part-time Big Data Analyst program and a 2-year full-time residential Business Management program with an option of AIMA affiliated AICTE approved PGDM.
