IIM B has released a placement report for the Class of 2014 of its One Year Full Time MBA (Executive Post-Graduate Programme in Management – EPGP). The average salary this year seems to have taken a hit and at Rs 22.59 lakh is considerably lower than the Rs 26 lakh average salary quoted by the B-School in 2013.
IIM B released a placement report for the 2014 Class of its One Year MBA (Executive Post-Graduate Programme in Management – EPGP) in late July 2014. The report seemed to be an interim one as the numbers provided were based on the placement of 50 students, however the B-School has has not released an updated version of the report as of date.
As per the report, while the average salary this year has taken a hit, also missing this year are mind-boggling numbers such as the 1 crore Domestic salary figure that made headlines last year – the highest salary got by an EPGP grad in 2014 is Rs 53.28 lakh.
An interesting aspect in the 2014 edition of the placements seems to be the number of participants who have managed a career transition. As per the report, while 59% students in the incoming Class were from the project management function, only 28% students returned back to project management – the rest seem to have found new opportunities for the next leg of their careers.

Good article. It appears that the average salary has taken a hit because the crore plus mind boggling salaries are missing this year. My guess is that the majority of the batch must have got more or less similar salaries / job profiles as the last year. The average salary figure may become skewed because of very high salaries few students get. Better guide is median 80% ....
That's a sharp observation You could well be right. 1 Cr domestic would have had a significant impact on average. Middle 80 mean/ median doesn't seem to have been provided by iim b.
