The Schulich School of Business at York University was ranked #1 in Canada and 21st in the world in a global MBA survey conducted by Expansión magazine, a Time Warner business publication based in Mexico City. Schulich is the only B-school in Canada to be ranked among the Top 50 B-schools in the world in the ranking.
2014 marks the eighth straight year that Schulich has participated in the Expansión ranking, and the eighth straight year in which the School has been ranked #1 in Canada and among the world’s top 25 business schools. Schulich is the only Canadian business schools to have been ranked among the top 50.
In placing 21st overall, Schulich finished just behind Kellogg (2oth) and Cornell (19th), and ahead of the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia (22nd), the Stern School of Business at New York University (23rd), UCLA (24th), and the University of Michigan (25th).
Schulich placed 9th among business schools outside the US and 13th among business schools in North America. Harvard finished first overall, with Stanford taking second spot and MIT placing third.

The Expansión ‘Best Global MBAs’ ranking, established in 2006, is the premier global survey conducted by a Latin American business publication. The survey rates leading MBA programs from around the world using a broad range of criteria, including Academic Quality, Return on Investment and Global Value. The survey employs a predominantly statistical-based methodology to rank business schools, with points awarded in key areas of measurement such as international scope and orientation, average GMAT, post-MBA average salary and average salary percentage increase, and faculty research output.

Horváth, who noted that Schulich has also been ranked among the top 15 schools in North America, and among the top 10 schools outside the US by a number of major global surveys during the past eight months. Added Horváth: “The Expansión results mark the 8th time this academic year that one of Schulich’s MBA or EMBA programs has been ranked #1 in Canada and among the world’s leading schools – and in two of those surveys, Schulich was ranked #1 in the world.”Schulich has had a good run at other rankings too this year.
