Supply Chain 2020: IIM Udaipur explores future of the industry

Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur (IIM U), one of India’s leading business schools, is all set to host the Supply Chain Summit on 18^th January, 2014.

IIM Udaipur is one of the youngest business schools in the IIM league. That’s not stopping the school from being a front- runner in many areas. In November, we had reported on how the school was selected as one of the top 5 teams from across the globe for the finals of the prestigious Global Operations Conference 2013 at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan.

Now the business school is breaking new ground by becoming the first B-school in India to organize a Summit dedicated to the field of Supply Chain Management.

Taking inspiration from the IIM brand, which aims to be the forerunner in developing management leaders, the theme of the Supply Chain Summit is Supply Chain 2020. The initiative aims to provide a platform for students and corporates to discuss the future of the Supply Chain industry.

The Supply Chain Summit will see a gamut of supply chain leaders from the industry sharing their expert views in two panel discussions – ‘Supply Chain Innovations and their impact’ and ‘Collaboration in future Supply Chains’.

The wide range of companies being represented by the esteemed panelists include Microsoft, Ernst & Young, Ranbaxy, Reliance Home Products, Gartner, Wipro, Lenovo, Pfizer and Airtel.

The best aspect of the event, as per the school, is the diversity in the domains being represented by the panelists. The speakers come from domains as diverse as Pharma and Technology Research. Considering the profile of the speakers and their vast experience in the field of supply chain, the panel discussions would provide key insights to the students about the way complex and demanding supply chains would shape up in the near future.

As the the first Indian B-school to launch a 15-month full time dual degree specialized program in Global Supply Chain Management, IIM U’s Supply Chain Summit reiterates IIM Udaipur’s drive for excellence in creating thought leaders equipped to take businesses to new frontiers.
