If a candidate wants to get into FMS’s MBA program, then he/she must have at least a bachelor’s degree or any other equivalent degree obtained after twelve years of formal schooling. (10+2).
The minimum mark criteria is set to 50% marks or CGPA in the equivalent degree. However, there is an additional 5% relaxation for students belonging to SC/ST/PWD/CW. Moreover, candidates appearing in the final year of their bachelor’s degree examination are also eligible for this program.
Note: Applicants appearing in the final year of examination of their bachelor’s degree or waiting for their results to roll out are also eligible for this program. But the only condition is that such candidates must furnish proof of meeting eligibility criteria when their results are declared. And they must submit the proof at the FMS office at the time of admission to the program; in case any candidate fails in reaching the minimum mark criteria, then the application will be canceled by the institute.
Application & Selection Procedure
Applicants can fill out the form online for this MBA Programme (2020– 2022) by FMS at www.fms.edu. There is a fixed application fee for students, Rs 1000, and for SC/ST/PWD/EWS candidates, Rs 350 only. The date of application form submission is between October 10, 2019, and November 25, 2019.
Short-listing of candidates for Personal Interview
For the shortlisting process for PI (Personal Interviews), different weightage will be assigned to students based on their CAT 2019 performance, and all this to encourage diversity of Gender and Academic Disciplines.
As the composite score is the prime factor for the selection process, that’s why it will be computed giving weightage of 30%, 30%, and 40% to the scores of QA, DI/LR, and VRC sections, respectively.
For female candidates, additional three marks will be added to the composite score at the time of the shortlisting process. But keep in mind, this addition of composite score is only for shortlisting candidates for the interview process.
Admission Merit List
Some prime factors, such as Extempore Speech, Group Discussion, Personal Interview, Class X & Class XII marks, and CAT 2019 scores, will drive the actual selection process. The following weight-system will be applied for drawing the merit list of final selection:
An additional 3% of overall aggregate marks will be added to the female candidate’s overall score who appear for the interview process after the shortlisting process.
To better understand all the Common Admission Test (CAT 2019) details, applicants can visit https://iimcat.ac.in. As mentioned earlier, applicants who haven’t taken CAT 2019 will not be eligible for this program by FMS.
