IIT Roorkee MBA Eligibility Criteria And Admission

Eligibility

Any Graduate student can apply with at least 60% (55% marks for SC/ST/PD) marks or the same marks in any other equivalent qualification recognized by UGC. Students appearing in the final year of their examination are also eligible, but the only condition is that such students must prove passing the current examination with minimum mark criteria; if not, then the application will be canceled.

During the interview/WAT, students belonging to OBC/SC/ST/PD will be asked to submit the requisite certificate from a competent authority in the Govt. of India’s prescribed format.

Admissions

Shortlisting Criteria (for WAT/PI Calls):

The shortlisting process for the interview/WAT will be based on a candidate’s performance in CAT 2019. Shortlisting criteria also has the following exemptions:

  1. For Personal Interview and WAT, all-female candidates from all categories will be provided a relaxation of 10 percentile.
  2. JEE qualified students, IIT Graduates with CGPA between 7 & above, but less than 8 (7≥ <8) will be exempted from CAT will be called directly for Personal Interviews and WAT.
  3. There is a direct admission for JEE-qualified IIT Graduate students with CGPA 8 and above.

Selection Procedure

Some important factors will drive the final admission process for this program  such as students’ aggregate performance in the Written Test (CAT 2019) followed by WAT, Interview, and their Work Experience as per weightage assigned below:

These eligibility requirements listed above are applicable for all categories of students, such as regular, full-time sponsored, and foreign candidates.

Other conditions for these categories are as follows:

Regular Candidates

Students appearing in the final year of their qualification or relevant qualification of undergraduate students can also apply for this program if he/she fulfills all the requirements.

For the Personal Interviews or WAT, such candidates will be required to upload a certificate as per the Proforma given in Annexure-1. In case the results of such students are delayed by authorities, they can also be called for WAT/PI.

In this case, the shortlisting process of WAT/PI will be based on students’ pre-final year aggregate marks. However, such candidates must provide proof of having passed the examination with the required percentage or CGPA latest by  September 28, 2020.

Full-Time Sponsored Candidates

Candidates in this category must have a minimum of two-year or full-time work experience with a registered firm/Company/Industry/Educational or Research Institute/Govt/Quasi Govt/Autonomous Organization.

The field of work must be in which admissions are being sought. There are specific terms for that Firm/Company/Industry as well, such as it must be a public sector undertaking or a public limited company. Further, it must be registered in a stock exchange or a private concern with a turnover of more than five crores within the past two years. If the organization is an Educational Institution. Then it should be recognized by AICTE.

Number of Seats 

Currently, there are 95 seats present in this MBA Program.
