Admissions
Application Procedure
Application and Entrance Test (Common Admission Test)
Entrance Test:
Once the application submission process is over, all the eligible candidates have to appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM). This examination is likely to be held in November in the centers spread all over India. Candidates willing to get admission in Nirma University can apply separately for this and the institute will select candidates based on the test score from IIM.
IIM is only the examination body; there is no role of IIM in the selection process or in the programme.
Online Application Process
Applicants can fill the online form for this programme, and they must submit a non-refundable fee of Rs 1500/- and the payment method will be online via debit/credit card or net banking.
Keep track of the electronic mails on the email you submitted in the online form for further details about admission. However, applicants can also check out the details or updates regarding admission on the website.
After CAT, the selectors will shortlist the candidates based on their performance in the test, and then those candidates will be called for personal Interview and Theme Development & Presentation (TDP). Candidates don’t have to travel extensively – nearby centers will be allotted to candidates all over the country. You can also drop a centre or add a new one as per your convenience.
All the factors such as candidates’ performance in the CAT, TDP, Personal Interview, Academic Performance in XII/graduation, and work experience matter in the final section process.
The following weightage will be provided to the candidate based on their composite score and the selection criteria. And finally, the weightage will be calculated for the final selection process.
In case a candidate showcases his/her past full-time job experience, then he/she will be given 10 points additionally.
You can check out the below-listed points in the table, which will be given to the candidates based on their academic performance.
Sub-Criteria | Weights |
Pre-Final Graduation* | 50% |
Class XII | 30% |
Class X | 20% |
*Keep in mind that one candidate’s pre-final year marks will be counted for the selection process. For instance, if you have a three-year bachelor’s degree, then only 1st and 2nd year’s marks will be counted for merit. The same applies to those who have a four-year bachelor’s degree; in such cases, only 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year’s marks will be counted.
Admission Offer
Once the selection process is done, and merit arrives, candidates will be able to check the result on the institute’s website. However, the selected candidates/students will be informed via electronic emails that they provided while filling out the online application form. In addition to that, the offer letter will be sent to that email, so candidates should track their email timely. Another thing to keep in mind is that the institute will not be responsible for non-receipt or delay in communication.
Note: Other students such as Foreign students/NRI/Gulf Countries, South East Asia candidates, and Persons of Indian origin will be eligible for admission based on their CAT/GMAT score (not taken before July 2019). For more details about this particular segment, check out the college’s website.
