USA’s Cheapest MBA? Check Out University Of People
0Even during times of sky-rocketing MBA program fees, one particular on-line course stands apart for being the cheapest at the Pasadena-based University of the People (UoP).
UoP is offering an almost-free MBA program set to begin in September 2016 with students having to pay only $2,400 for all 12 tests, a minuscule amount compared to $40,000 charged by bricks-and-mortar business schools as annual tuition fees.
UoP President Shai Reshef says the University’s goal is to make higher-education accessible to all, anytime, anywhere. It also offers scholarships sponsored by HP and Microsoft among others, for those who cannot afford even the low fees.

As many as 4,400 applications have been received for the 1,500 seats with about 20% of the applicants from the US and one-quarter from Africa.
The University do not charge the students for courses, course materials, or annual enrollment, making degree programs affordable and accessible. The online model cuts the cost still further for the students virtually taking the classroom to them.
Despite the low fees, the program has the same rigours of a regular MBA. It offers internships and mentorships . It also has a career services centre and global employment network.
UoP’s online business administration career service center provides career counselling and tools for opportunities during and after completing an online university degree.
A variety of career building tools are available for them including resume building and cover letter writing, job search skills, interview techniques, professional networking skills and career planning.
The Centre also provides industry specific assistance. It also has tools to help those entering the work force, those with extensive work experience or just making a career change.
The students have a choice of both an online associate and/or bachelor degree in either business administration or computer science, all tuition-free, online, flexible, and easily accessible.
UoP takes a nominal $60 Application Processing Fee for all applicants as well as a $100 Exam Processing Fee for each exam to be paid by the end of each exam period. “These modest fees ensure that the university remains sustainable and can continue to provide quality education for everybody,” it says.
Processing fees for Graduate Degrees comprise a non-refundable $60 application processing fee to be submitted along with the admission application. It does not include any additional fees that may be required for third-party evaluation.
