Campus placements and the one-year full-time PGDM Executive Program itself at IMT Ghaziabad has helped professionals with work experience enhance their skills and update knowledge of various facets of management to make a career switch to a new domain or take a leap to the C-suite.
The placement data and comments from the alumni present a picture of a program that takes market demands and career aspirations of the students into account.
An Electrical Engineering graduate from Jadavpur University, Mazhar Hossain, who looks after Public Policy & Growth Strategy at Ola Electric Mobility Pvt Ltd., confesses that coming from a technical and operation background, he was always keen on exploring the commercial aspects of the business.
“IMT Ghaziabad Executive program helped me in understanding the complete business cycle. My course not only helped me in understanding but also gave me the confidence to get into the world of corporate strategy/management consulting,”he says.
Shivani Sanwal, Sr. Manager, HR atMoglix, says, “The Executive PGDM program gave me an immense sense of reward and personal achievement.”
“The program acted as a re-energizer for my career and gave me insights and exposure to various functions and industries.I believe the three most important takeaways from the program are – Peer Learning, Networking & Global Exposure. A Science graduate from St. Stephen’s College in New Delhi, Shivani started her career in 2010 as a currency derivatives trader with Jaypee Capital Services New Delhi and moved on to the Trident Group in Ludhiana where she worked in various capacities like Talent Acquisition and HRBP.
She enrolled for the one-year Executive PGDM program in November 2016. She returned to Trident as Regional Talent Management Head and Employee Engagement Head for about a year before moving on to Moglix where she is HR Business Partner at present.

Antara Chakraborty (PGDM Executive 2018), Assistant Consultant at Tata Consultancy Services, Ghaziabad,finds the program is “value for money”. She needed to take only a year’s break from her professional life to make a successful transition from a technological professional to a business associate. The program gave a bird’s eye view about the various aspects of management which was much needed for a successful transition.

Incidentally, Hossain was the 2013-14 PGDM Executive batch topper at IMT, Ghaziabad where he had specialized in Operations & Finance. He then went on to work for a brief period in IBM as Associate Systems Engineer and moved to CESE, PwC, and Indus Towers before joining Ola.
Ashish Gupta, who completed his PGDM Executive at IMT Ghaziabad way back in 2009, life
at IMT was splendid and he developed “consistency, resilience, adaptability and a great
attitude.”
“IMT instilled a lot of confidence in me as a person and helped gain a lot of insights across
business domains. These traits have kept me going in the professional sphere beyond the
boundaries of the institutional learning in the program,” he says.
Nikhil Bhagat, a freshly-minted PGDM Executive 2019, credits the learnings at IMT to his
shift from a technical role to that of a business analyst at TCS, New Delhi. Nikhil has a
Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics & Instrumentation. At IMT, he chose
Management Information System for his specialization.
“Executive MBA from IMT Ghaziabad gave me a fresh perspective about the overall
business environment and broadened my horizons. The stimulating and
challenging environment of the classroom helped me to hone my skills and understand the nuts
and bolts of a business which eventually opened career options for me in my
current organization,” he says.

Harshit Bansal (PGDM Executive 2018), Business Experience Designer at Deloitte, Bengaluru,
says with a rich experience as a marketing professional for seven years, he quit his job to
join IMT Ghaziabad.
“Rigorous course curriculum and an exquisite experiential learning approach at IMT, made it
rather interesting for me to understand the practical implications of management theories
that were taught to us. Add to that the CIM sessions conducted by industry leaders and
experts were highly insightful as real-life anecdotes have always been a great way to relate
to teachings and gain in-depth understanding of concepts.
“I have always been a firm believer of building self-confidence and faith in oneself, which
IMT had undoubtedly helped in strengthening it further. I always suggest to not just rely on
campus placements and keep reaching out to your immediate and extended professional
networks.
“I have always done the same and it helped me bag not just one but three job offers outside
of campus. In the end I would say that always try to get the best learning possible out of the
MBA course and I am sure one eventually lands up with the job of their liking, be it on or off-campus,” he says.
Coming to the PGDM Executive 2019 batch at the placements, Urmila Sundriyal is with HSBC as Project Manager in the IT domain. Prior to joining IMT, she was working at Infosys as a Test Analyst.
Rachit Mazumdar was earlier working with TAL Manufacturing Solutions Ltd. as an engineer
in the Operations domain. Rachit is currently associated with Renoir Consulting and
manages Consulting advisory in Supply Chain for different clients across the Globe.
Prashant Yadav, before joining IMT PGDM Executive program, was associated with Acme
Cleantech Solution Pvt. Ltd as Deputy Manager (Projects). He currently works in Delhivery as
Senior Manager in the Last Mile Management.
PGDM Executive batches, in the past two academic years, have managed to secure an
the average salary of Rs 15 lakh, a median salary of 14.4 lakh and the highest salary package at Rs 30.00 lakh as a testimony to the quality of the students and the program.
Among the top recruiters across different sectors were Accenture, HSBC, Infosys, Tata Cliq,
Myntra, Renoir Consulting, E&Y, Delhivery and Trident. The process also witnessed the
participation of some Unicorn start-ups like Udaan andMoglix.
The students got placed in key strategic, mid and top managerial positions in Consulting,
Marketing, Operations Business Development, Information Technology Management and
Project Management.
About 46% of the batch went into consulting and Information Technology domains and 10%
in the manufacturing sector. The top 20% of the batch secured a salary of Rs 20 lakh and
above with the highest salary offer being in the manufacturing sector. Around 10-15% offers
were made in other sectors such as hospitality, BFSI and telecom.
Around 13% of the students on sabbatical also received due recognition on return to their
organizations in terms of better grades and portfolios. The Exhibit 1 provides details of sector-wise placement details of the PGDM Executive batch of 2018-19. A few of the students had also received job offers on their own.
This 15-month full-time AICTE approved and AACSB accredited residential program is
tailormade for executives with work experience.
The students, most of them with 5+ years of work experience, are put through a rigorously
packaged set of courses with customization in either Information Management, Operations
& Supply Chain, Marketing Analytics or Human Resource.
The program, with a total credit of 73, also includes a 6-week Global Career Accelerator
program at EM Normandie, France, IESEG School of Management, Paris & Copenhagen
Business School, Denmark to give them much-needed international exposure.
Live projects and Industry/Alumni sessions enliven the program. Every aspect of the
program ensures that the students are exposed to real-life business issues and find ways to
effectively tackle any of these challenges.
